Drive to the Khustai Nuruu National Park, after breakfast. Khustai Nuruu is famous for the reintroduction of Mongolia’s wild horses. The Takhi or Przewalski’s wild horse was once native to Mongolia and extinct in the wild earlier this century. Through the efforts of several Mongolian and international organizations, these magnificent wild horses now roam in the steppes once again in Khustai Nuruu National Park. We will visit the Information Center and take a guided hike to watch the wild horses in the evening. Overnight in Khustai ger camp. (L/D)
Today we will drive to Tsenkher soum of Arkhangai province and reach our nomad family in the Tsenkher River valley, surrounded by rolling hills and mountains. We will take part in the nomad family’s daily life, a great way to experience Mongolia in first-hand. In the evening we will meet our horses and ride for a short distance in order to prepare the horse for the long-distance trekking and for you to get used to each other. Overnight in a ger next to a nomad family. (B/L/D)
Today we will begin our horse trekking journey. We will ride along the Tsenkher River towards Tsenkher Hot Spring. After lunch in the ger camp of Tsenkher hot spring, we continue our trekking and set up our camp in the valley. Overnight in a tent. (B/L/D)
Today we will be trekking to Taikhar rock and on the way stop in Tsetserleg town – the capital of Arkhangai Province for lunch and visit Zaya Gegeenii Museum. After lunch, we continue trekking and pass Tsagaan Davaa Mountain. Camp near Tamir River. Overnight in a tent. (B/L/D)
Today we will full day riding back to the nomad family where we started our trekking. Overnight in a ger next to a nomad family. (B/L/D)
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar, after breakfast. Lunch is in Lun soum of Central Province on the way. Then we go for optional souvenir and cashmere shopping. Enjoy evening traditional cultural show of the Tumen Ekh Ensemble. Farewell dinner. (B/D).
