A great adventure to experience horse trekking across Khentii province with deep taiga forest, situated in the northeastern part of the country, exploring most beautiful and famous places in the Khentii Mountain Range. Enjoy different activities like visiting nomad family, camping in a tent under a starry sky, watching rare wildlife and other optional activities such as archery, kayaking, fishing, swimming, moving on yak cart.
Ulaanbaatar (hotel or airport pickup and drop-off)
Meet at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport/Train station and transfer to a 3-star hotel in downtown. Half-day city tour – visit the Gandan monastery, National History Museum and the Sukhbaatar Square. Overnight stay in the hotel. (L)
This morning we will drive to Terelj National Park. On the way we stop at cave of 100 monks, visit Turtle Rock and the Aryapala Meditation Temple. Then arrive at the local nomad family and have lunch. In the afternoon practice horse riding around the area. Overnight stay in a ger next to a nomad family. (B/L/D)
Early rising to enjoy breakfast during inspiring sunrise. Then we will start horseback riding to the northeast towards the legendary Princess Temple ruins, Khagiin Khar Lake and eventually reaching the Jalman Mountain. We stop at nomad families along the way to witness their renowned hospitality and experience their lifestyle. The view and wilderness will be awesome all the way! Tent camping under the starry skies. This morning we drive to amazing Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve in Great Mongolian Steppes for 2 hours and transfer to friendly Steppe Nomads camp. Ride horses to Baits Mountain to watch the rare wildlife such as the Argali or wild sheep and several other species. Overnight stay in ger camp. (B/L/D)
A free day to relax in amazing Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve, activities such as archery, kayaking, fishing, swimming, yak cart ride, etc available at a small amount of charges that support the local community. Have dinner and overnight in ger camp. (B/L/D)
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar, stopping at Giant Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue and transfer to the hotel. Half-day city tour – Bogd Khaan Winter Palace Museum, Buddha Park and Zaisan Memorial Hill. In the evening enjoy Mongolian traditional cultural show and farewell dinner. Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel. (B/L/D)
